Last friday was a good day. I got my oldest daughter signed up for her guitar lessons. Since she is taking them from Aaron Roten she should be outplaying me in about 6 months. We had lunch afterwards and I explained to her the importance of college. It's important to have some good alone time with each of your kids and this week I managed to do that. Rowan and I hit the thrift sores and Kmart for shoe shopping. Eddie and I ran errands and went to his school's open house. And Alicia and I spent Friday hanging out, going to cd stores.
Later Friday night Apnea had a show with Flaws Of Thought and Break The Barrier. I didn't know what to expect. Our normal crowd were going to be across town to see some other metal bands playing. But some tryed to make it to both shows. The FOT crowd really accepted us and were totaly getting into it while we were on stage. And a lot of new faces saw us and we were able to make a good impression on them. We played almost all of our new songs and fans dug it. We have another new one that is called Weakened Embrace and it's a very depressed, doomy song about the time I almost lost the love of my life. We will unveil that one on Oct. 27th. This show was exactly what the band and I needed to reinstall our faith in having good local shows again. I visualized us having a good show and it happened. The old me wouldn't have had that much faith in the show. I have changed. Didn't drink a drop either. It was a good night with good music and good friends. Thanks to all who showed up.
