Finally the weather is resembling Fall!! Early in the morning I am driving around enjoying the chill in the air checking out all the Halloween decor on everyone's houses. My favorite has got to be the inflatable Grim Reaper that is as tall as a house. This is also the time of year when I pull out all my Mercyful Fate and King Diamond cds. King Diamond is perfect for listening to during this time of year. I can listen to him all year long but this is the best time. "Abigail" "Them" are my favorites that really bring out some old metal memories from high school. I remember listening to King Diamond and and the thrash band Bloodfeast while me and a bunch of friends would go driving on all these backwoods dark Missouri roads. There was a night we were driving all around Wilson's Creek Battlefield and we got lost. We finally get to another friend's house where they said that the power was out. We got lost because there was no lights coming from the houses or streets. We left the friend's house and we started seeing flashes of light even though it was clear. We followed the flashes and ended up on the corner Battlefield and Glenstone after passing a bunch of firetrucks. The power center that's fenced up at that intersection is what was causing the power outage and the flashes of light. During this whole time King Diamond's "Them" was cranking on my cassette player in the car.
I am ready for summer's end. No more heat, mosquitos, growing grass, and other such nonsense. Hello Fall old friend.
